    Sub box question

yea i was just wondering if you have a sub made for a big ported box, but then you put it in a smaller sealed one and stuff the inside of the box with fiberglass or whatnot, will these be ok? a few people have told me this but i am not sure about it...

thats called poly fill. it tricks the sub into thinking the enclosure is bigger than what it actually is. i wouldnt do fiberglass.

    Re: Sub box question

usually you should do the sub's recommendations. Putting in stuff inside the box just makes the sound waves take a longer time to travel therefore making it sound better.

I have been wondering the same thing since I don't want to sacrifice a lot of trunk space. How much smaller can you make the enclosure than recommended by using polyfill?

    Re: Sub box question

does polyfill help in sound even if the box is big enough? I mean if it slows down waves i would think it would be maybe that would make box to big then
