hooking speakers up to amp

Well i have a 600 watt pyramid amplifier, 4 channel... and i have 1 10 inch kenwood tornado...600 max, 200 rms....i have the sub bridged in the 3rd and 4th channel...and i was messin around and tried hooking one infinity 5x7 speaker (180 max; 60 rms) up to the 1st channel...but all that comes out of that speaker is mostly static...ne help??/

try the second channel. if you hear music cracking/distorting, make sure gain isnt too high.if not, the 5x7 may be faulty. try testing to see if it plays on something else.
