    Blown Orion HCCA, thinking of building a beastly sub, need suggestions

    Okay I have a blown hcca 15, it's a newer one. I'm not going to say hcca's are all that great, so in my mind shelling out 200 plus for a recone is silly. Now what it will do is attempt attaching that massive motor to something else

    So here is where I get lost....what should I make, a stout 12...a ridiculous 10....or a more conventional 18"

    I'm thinking it would be good to make a smaller woofer with some testiez, because honestly I'm bout done with kicking 8 cubic foot enclosures in trunks. I wonder how bad a 10" would perform with a 400 oz plus motor behind it, I can't even say I've seen any 4" voice coil subs that were 10"

    What would you make?



    Ride: 2002 Infiniti I35
    HU: Pioneer PRS-80 w/ a JL Audio Linedriver
    Front Stage: Infinity ,Infinity KAPPA 6.09cs (front doors, rears need replacement)
    Sub Stage: Sundown Audio Z.V4 18"
    Front Amp: Soundqubed 120.4
    Sub Amp: Soundqubed 2200.1
    Power: Mechman 270A alt, Diehard advanced gold agm (775 CCA, 55ah) XS Power D3100, and something like 40' of stinger pro series zero gauge throughout

    a 400+ oz paper weight. lol i don't know but a motor that big is wasted in my opinion on a 10. do a massive 12 or a nice 15.

    i would do 12" plus because then you can have 10" spiders for the 4"
    coil

    2009 Sienna 3.5L Subs : C2 threatcon 15s. Sub amp: hifonics brx 2400.1D x 2
    Headunit: Pioneer 80PRS bought used from vertex audio Mids/Highs amp: PPI Phantom 900.4 - bought from dragnix
    Front stage: 3 way active front stage with Massive Audio CKX tweets, alpine type R 6x9 midbass in doors + DB drive pro audio 6.5 in the kick.
    320 amp Singer alt almost installed. 0 gauge Audio technix ofc all around, 2 group 31 agms in the back.

    I've tried talking to psi their customer service is a bit lacking, I guess it's gonna be a 12 lol, I want a zv4 surround, but idk about what spider and cone to use, never done this before

    May I ask how their customer service is lacking? I've dealt with David (PSI) and also plagued Cory (SPLaudio) and I can NOT say ONE negative thing about either of them. PSI had A+++ customer service as far as I'm concerned... All of my questions were answered within a 24 hour time period. Sometimes less depending on when I sent the email. Both are very smart and will be extremely helpful when it comes to helping you build a subwoofer with your needs and demands.

    SPLaudio can hook ya up. He's a good guy and has some great customer service he even sends you progress pictures most of the time.

    Not downing them...it just took them quite along time to get back to me, I'm talking like 4 or five days, I assume they are busy
