    Newbie Subs question

I'd like to get 2 10's for my pickup truck...

How much would it be for 2 10's and a nice amp to power them for an average sounding system...?

Stupid question: I have a Pioneer HU with aftermarket speakers and the stock speakers in the back...Do I need to upgrade speakers and/or HU to go with the subs? Would the bass of the subs overpower the audio vocal part of the speakers or will the vocal and the bass be equal and sound alright?

    Thanks...

Well instead of how much will it cost, how much are you looking to spend? Plus how much room do you have to work with, what type of truck, and are you building the box yourself/having a shop build it or buying a prefab box?

For an average system with two subs and an amp, i would say that 500 dollars would be a good guesstimate for how much it might cost, that is what i have found all my friends spending on their systems (they don't like the 3000 dollar systems like i do )

And as far as finding a balance between your speakers and your subs, it is all basically up to the user settings. There are many settings that you can play around with in the head unit to find what you think is a good balance between the highs and lows. It is all up to you basically

In the process of building an enclosure for 2 12" Magnum D2's... should be fun :thumbsup
