Do not put Adiopipe in the same sentence as Alpine and RF. I hate RF personally but Alpine make a VERY solid cheap amp, just limited on capability. If you're not trying to fine tune the its the right amp for you.

    Re: Sub Options

if you can spend more money on amp, do it due to being efficient on your electrical, lower priced amp will have toll on your electrical but for 1 sub an audiopipe is a good bacng for the money, i only use alpines and rockfords for mids and highs since those needs to be super clean wattages

The C2's are on sale right now for $99 shipped, you wont find a better sub that price! You can buy two of these for less than 1 SA12. I bought mine when they first came out for $99 a piece, my neighbor is so impressed with them he offered me $300 (used) without the box for them. These things get LOUD and sound great doing it!!

Here is mine. I have less money in these two with the enclosure than I would have had if I bought just two SA's without a enclosure.
I love the way those subs look with that white stitching around the edge of the cone. How do them subs hold up sq wise? Also what are the specs on that box? I am trying to figure out if I could fit 2 of them in a 4 ft box tuned at 35hz in the trunk of my camry.

So I am looking at the specs of the threatcon 2 and apparently do not know how to interpret them. Where would I find frequency response and sensitivity?

Do you think a PPI bk 1300d would be a solid amp to power a pair of these C2 12's? It does 1300x1 @ 1ohm rms. It's a relatively cheap amp with decent power and made in the U.S which is always a plus in my book.

Isn't FS of 36.4 considered high, I.e. it won't produce the lower deep bass notes?

I dont know about the numbers, all I know is from first hand experience and I can tell you that when I play the King of Bass CD that I got from Incriminator Audio, they have no problem hitting the low bass notes.

As far as the specs on that box, I am not sure, Dustin (ProRabbit) at DC Creations built the box, he probably knows the specs. This box is in the trunk of a 1996 Dodge Neon, it is a tight fit but it does fit and I still have a back seat.

Some seem to like those PPI's, in my book they will never be the same company they used to be so I would not mess with it. You really do get what you pay for. I know people will argue that with this good 5000 watts for around $1200 now days, thats not adding in the amount of money it takes to power 5000 watts. It does add up so in reality you get what you pay for. 5000 watt amps would not sell if the dollar per watt rule applied the same. Not many would pay $4000 for 5000 watts and still want to pay another $1500 to run it. Look at the big picture when looking at audio equipment, if its cheap there is a reason.

If you want to hit those low bass tones, its all on your enclosure man, one good 12 in a legit custom ported box will be louder, lower and cleaner sounding than any of your dual sealed hatchback enclsoure style choices.

I hear ya. I'm only looking for use about 1000-1300 rms for my subs with a class d amp and another 200-250 rms for my mids and highs from a class a/b amp. I think I could do the big 3, plus a good battery under the hood and be fine.

Would I need to upgrade my electrical if I bought an audiopipe amp?
