need advice on new system

im planning a new system for my 1994 s10 blazer. im thinking either 6 12's or 4 15's in sealed enclosures.

would either be louder than the other?

im considering rockford's with 2 of their power series amps.

go with the 6 12's. I believe the 6 12's has more cone area than the 4 15's. So it would have the potential to get louder with the 6 12's. Anyone feel free to correct me if i am wrong.

2 XXX or brahmas should be plenty loud.....much better than 6 lower quality subs i would say.

so 2 of the re xxx 12's would be louder than 6 12" rockford fosgate power serires? they look amazing from what i have seen on this forum. i have never heard of them before today.

do they work well in sealed boxes or are they meant to be ported? do you know the volume they require? i didnt see anything on their website.

six twelves would be good, might i recomend the Rockford Fosgate power hx2

yeah RE xxx should really be put in ported boxes. They require BIG boxes too so you probably won't have room for six or any crazy **** like that.

the 6 12" would be louder but i think 4 15" would is really good in spl, they would sound better ported though, and have more spl

ok. so after reading so much about the xxx's i think i will go with 2 of em with a RF t3001 amp. that does 3000@1ohm. if i got 2 of the dual .7ohm i can wire it to present .7 to the amp.

now heres my new question. what size should i get? its going in a 94 blazer and i dont care how big the box has to get. i have only owned 1 15" before, a stroker, but i usually go with 12's.

are there any dis advantages to the 18's? i like low, loud bass.

does the l7 even comapre to the xxx? the only thing i saw about the spec that was better was the box requirement is alot smaller. i dont care how much of my truck i fill up.

i also realized that 2 18 xxx's would take up 15 cubic feet of space. thats nuts, but something i think i would do

seems like you want a lot of spl, seeing the amount of subs you want + size
