Shallow mount subs for this box?

Car Audio Dual 12" Regular Cab Truck Subwoofer MDF Sub Box Enclosure Carpeted | eBay

Fitting that into an f150 reg cab.

Currently have one Kenwood Excelon KFC XW12 so you kinda get a feel for my quality (not trying to break the bank haha). Would also like to know where I can get the bars to protect the sub from the back of the seats.

Honestly kicker comp10s would be my choice for that size box and cheap

Other than that a pair of id12s which would be a little more and still fit iirc

Both would be great off of 500w

Those SD's are a little expensive, but I'll prolly go with em.

Think they would hit pretty hard in the box on a 600w amp?

Orion XTR PRO12D4 The Original Old School Woofer A D s Ads US New Warranty | eBay

I would have a full sized sub and this is top of the line american made and is a steal made by tc sounds

rather get a single sub and put your money into a custom ported box @double 07 ; hit him up to make a custom box. box is the most important thing.

these subs also like only 1.5 cube ported so you could fit 2 of them ported.

Appreciate it bud, but I have a reg cab truck (2003 model, very little room). I cant fit a big enough box to support a full sized sub.

Those sd's look like they are pretty solid after finding some reviews and videos. Ill certainly go with them.

Does the box look good enough for em?

Re: Shallow mount subs for this box?

Now that I see that the RMS is 500w, I doubt my 600w is good enough haha. Think they'll still hit hard off just that? 1000w sounds much better.

    EDIT

Is there really any advantage to using shallow mount subs? The Kenwood I have now can already mount into a pretty small box. Do shallow mounts sound better in less space?

Re: Shallow mount subs for this box?

I just put my one of my sd 10 in the prefab box I had today
gain at 12-15% bass boost turned all the way down for break in
the sub sounds good will hit some lows and it already hits lower than the 2 subs I had in before
I hope it gets a lil better after break in and i'll make a box for both of the subs
right now its in a .7 cubic foot box
I think both of them after break in and in a new box should sound good.
prefab box sounds like it wants to come apart lol

Re: Shallow mount subs for this box?

Made box today and put them in truck, hooked up the 1500saz (LOTS BETTER THAN 500 watt fosgate prime) still running very low gain
and its sounds a lot better. the old box was half inch crap board and was breaking apart. new box is .75 inch MDF
any one know how long it takes to break these SD-2's in?
anyways for a small space these are great.

Were ure old subs regular subs?

If so, do the shallow ones sound better in the smaller space?
