Not much out there new for that price. Try to find a Sundown SA-12 used if your box is small around 1 cubic foot

Re: Time to get a new Sub

I'd look at an SSA-Dcon... I'd imagine that amp makes about ~400w of power, so it should be a perfect fit. Maybe even a Dayton HO. Or an Sundown E-series. Any of those would be good bets. All of them are a little above your unrealistic budget. But they are all great woofers, that will last as long as your truck does if you have the crossovers and gains set properly.

C2 has their 12s for 99.99 right now. Not sure if they are good for sealed tho.

Re: Time to get a new Sub

You gave the height and length just missing the depth to determine the volume of the box. Sundown E would be a perfect choice too

I agree the Dayton or the sundown subs are both good choices.

Is there any good subs that will sound good in a truck box?

You seem to have a goal of asking questions but providing too little info to receive good answers. Even when pinned down on your box size, you only gave 2 of the 3 dimensions (so we still have no clue of its internal volume). Assuming you are measuring the outside, we need to know the thickness of wood you used also. Im confused how you built your own box, but cant give us an internal volume spec, or even seem to realize that that spec requires 3 dimensional measurements. For this reason, I will say another possible reason why your sub has ripped may be due to an improperly sized box.

Your latest post, the one I quoted here, is even worse, since 'truck box' usually refers simply to a trapezoidal shaped box designed to fit behind the seat in a regular cab truck. That shape alone does not lend itself to affecting the sound quality or dictate the performance of any given driver you would mount in it.

Im not trying to be an ass here, Im only trying to point out the errors in your logic that very well could lead to you making a mistake with your next purchase/install that could lead to another premature failure. I suggest hanging out here a little while and getting more of the basics of box building down before you spend any more money.

    Cheers.

No speaker, in the history of speakers, has ever been blown by too little power. Ever. I don't care what your friend told you, he's a dirty liar.
