    Recommendations for my situation

Car is a 2012 300 The rear seats fold down completely and I want to keep quite a bit of trunk space for golf clubs and luggage etc. I have 38" W x 14" H x 18" D ( depth can change to whatever just don't want it much deeper and would prefer narrower) so a little over 5 ft3.

---------- Post added at 01:36 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:36 AM ----------

I already own an x.t.r. Pro which is 1000x1 @ 1 ohm for the subs and a 500.4 for highs. I would prefer to do minimal electrical upgrades and think this is about the most power I can get away with without adding batteries etc. I'm thinking 2-3 12s or 2 13.5s sealed facing the rear seats with the cabin sealed off from the trunk. I would also consider porting to a low frequency if suggested but have always liked the sq I get from sealed boxes. I'm looking for great sq with the ability to get as loud as possible with 1k watts for the times I want that. Just don't want to rattle panels apart etc in a new car. Is sealing off the cabin and facing forward my best option? The seats can be down whenever since I very rarely have rear passengers. What size and combo of subs would you recommend? Sealed or ported? Any particular sub models? Thanks in advance!

3 Incriminator I-12's or 3 sundown e-12's would be fun.

what kind of budget do you have for it?

    Re: Recommendations for my situation

I don't have a limited budget but can only do so much with 1000 watts, no reason to get expensive subs with no power to utilize them. I figure I might as well maximize my cone area with 3 12s that can move quite a bit with 350 each... Maybe even port them if sq and space will work. I've looked at the two you mention and looking for something better then 11 mm xmax, would rather just match the amps and get the Orion xtr pro 12s instead of those but at the moment leaning more towards id or idq 12s, also looking at re seXv2s but have read they don't have the sq of the ids.

    Re: Recommendations for my situation

IDs would be nice, but they're fickle when it comes to giving them more than their rated 250W. If you're going ported, you should be fine when factoring in what the subs will actually see from rise and efficiency losses. They are definitely geared to be more of a SQ sub, though, so you won't get CRAZY bass from them. It will move some air, though.

    Re: Recommendations for my situation

Can you explain what you mean by rise and efficiency losses? I thought subs could handle more power in sealed but were much more efficient in ported (at least around the tuning frequency). You think 350 each would be too much for id's in a sealed box? That seems pretty weak, I can get the idq's for just a little more money anyway, just thought the id's might get louder with less power?

    Re: Recommendations for my situation

Box rise is an added impedance caused by ported box construction and the extra forces acting behind the sub that hinder its motion. Efficiency loss is caused by your electrical system not always being at a constant 14.4V, so power will fluctuate. So, more or less, out of the 1K you have to give to your subs, your subs have the potential to only see 800W of it.

If you run the IDs, run them ported.

You def want to go ported. I would do 2 incriminator audio lethal injection from vertex audio

2 12 in that room ported would be about perfect. The ssa Dcon sub is nice and should take 500 if its clean power. Otherwise set gains so they see 400 each

    Re: Recommendations for my situation

Because I will get extra output ported? Will I lose much sq?

Which direction would you fire the subs and ports? I've read the trunks in these new 300s are solid and it's hard to get bass response through the rear deck and thick back seats so thats why I was thinking of sealing off cabin.
