Iknow the 18 has more cone area but which would be louder considering motor force. I have 2 12" FI btls (fully loaded) but looking into a solo x or something along those SPL lines. Will not be used for competition. Only daily. They will be going in a 4 door f150. I took the whole backseat out for my audio. . Subs will be in correct enclosure and power . Or has a 18 they would trade for the FI btls and cash.

That 18 would need HUGE box if it was to be the proper size. I guess 2 12s need a good sized box also... but personally, I'd stick with the two 12s. Dont ask why.. I have no reasons to back myself up.

considering its fi btl 12's compared to say.. a single i btl 18.. thats double the power you could put on them if you had two twelves instead of 1 18".. i would think 4k would probably get a lot louder than 2k even taking in the fact it has less cone area..

same predicament my friend is in now.. its either add another skar 12" or buy an obsidian 18" hes already got 2k on the skar.. im in favor of him just doubling what he has..

I use to have a 18" FI SP4 and switched to my current setup of two Sundown SA 12". Power was identical and the difference in SPL was negligible, however I saved a lot of room going to two 12". The 12's are in a 4cf enclosure, where as the 18" was in a 8cf enclosure. If space is a concern, go with the 12's, if not I'd go with the 18" for the wow factor

just keep the 12s. if this was a burp only setup, id say 18, because single woofers are easier to reach the limits with for a given power class. but just stick with the btls.
