    ported, sealed, or both?

I am going to be buying an Alpine Type R 10" (1041D) I am either going tobe buying the model that comes with the custom Alpine Ported box with that sub in it or buying the sub seperatly and buying a box... The seperate box I am looking at is the Q Logic box that can be either ported or sealed... (type 3) Which box do you guys reccomend? The kind of music I listen to mostly is Punk Rock, Punk-Pop and Emo stuff... bands like MxPx, The Starting Line, Autopilot Off... some mroe popular ones are Blink 182, Simple Plan style... so pretty much rock with faster bass.... which is why I chose the 10" sub... any help here would be greatly appricated

For that kind of music i would suggest a sealed box (tight and punchy) even though 1 10" might not be too loud in a sealed box. If you want a little volume the ported would be a better choice. All depends on what you would prefer.

    Re: ported, sealed, or both?

I prefer "tight" bass and that is why I like sealed boxes. It really depends on the subs that you have. My eclipse sub loves small sealed boxes and after experimenting with various box designs I found one to my liking.

Wifey: Infinity, Concept, Pioneer, Profile, JBL
