Re: What htz to run sub at?

Re: What htz to run sub at?
Vehicle is a 94 Mustang. Do yall like the SA-8? Do you think it produces significant quantity of bass? Does it get very loud?
Re: What htz to run sub at?
What rating are you looking at that says "it will run 34.6 hz"? I think you're not understanding something.
Re: What htz to run sub at?
SA Series
That link is to the specs of the SA-8 per sundown's official website.
Re: What htz to run sub at?
So generally, people run their subs right at the Htz rating stated by the manufacturers, correct? There isn't some well known fact of giving them 5htz over the recommended specs, or something? Just wanted to make sure before I port my box.
Re: What htz to run sub at?
Time to educate yourself on what a vented alignment is and does.

What do you mean by "port my box"? A proper ported subwoofer enclosure will meet specifications that work for your specific subwoofer as well as the type of sound you want to achieve. Since you clearly don't know what you're doing, please look to one of the vendors to get you a proper box design.
Re: What htz to run sub at?
Which vendor would you recommend? I'd be happy to take any recommendations on a good box builder who will build a box and ship it to me.
And a semi related question: What are going to be the dimensions (in inches) of a ported box for the sundown Audio SA-8? Just one sub. If I build the box at the max of .75 cubic feet then that translates to 1296 cubic inches. But I'm not sure how tall and how wide that's going to be.
