    flat cones weak?

    i was lookin around and i heard that flat cones were mot very durable and this concerned me considerin i was thinkin of getting 2 eD kx 12" subs and they have the flat cone. should i be worried???



    2003 Silverado reg cab 2wd
    h/u.............stock
    speakers....stock
    amp............Alpine MRP-M350
    subs........... 2 Sony Xplod P5 10's
    box.............Q logic truck boxes
    just getting started (i'm only 16) but i'm thinkin of getting some Rockford Fosgate HE 12" subs and getting a cheap Alpine h/u. i got to build a box for the RF's if i get them cuz prefab boxes are way to **** expensive............

    No they are actually quite durable unless your t joint goes which has been known to happen.

    I wouldn't think it would be a problem with the comparatively low power of the kx's

    The T joint is where the former meets the back of the flat eD "cone". Basically what happened before is the glue separated so that when the sub moved in or out due to the voice coils and whatnot, the cone of the sub didnt move with the rest of the sub. The former basically jackhammered into the back of the flat "cone". Ive never heard of this happening with the kx series and I wouldnt expect it as they are used in low power situations.
