Right now I'm lookin at the Pioneer GM-D8601 for an amp - are they reliable? And will it hurt to run a 400 watt sub at 500 watts?

You should be fine with a little over powering. I'm running over 250w plus to each sub and mine are rated at 500w each. Ask double 07 what he thinks of my daily beater. Lmao

Hey man, I'm in the Chattanooga area. I wouldn't mind hearing what them 8s will do one day. I have 2 SA-12 in my truck.
