People who know about ported boxes!

So I'm building a ported box and i am definitely a noob at all this. I have 2 jl audio 12w6 and online they give me all the measurements for the ported box. my problem is i'm confused on the tuning aspect of ported enclosures. im going to give you all a link to jls website at the bottom that tells you all the measurements for the box. now if i have this right all i have to do is fallow the port measurements (and all the other measurements of course) and my box will be tuned to 32hz right?

go to specifications tab and at the bottom it will say ported enclosure specifications

    There's an enclosure design section.

Yes that's correct, but that box is for one sub.

why cant i just make 2 separate boxes and just slap them together? sure it might not look like a "professional box" but i dont care as long as it sounds good haha

"When using two subwoofers in a common enclosure simply double the required volume and, in the case of a ported enclosure, use two times the recommended port(s)." thats what it says on the website for the 12w6v2 so im a little confused..

Re: People who know about ported boxes!

If you just slap the 2 boxes together then you will have an over width of 51.5 inches dont know how you are going to fit that, to combine the 2 boxes and make it work or design a new one, you must have an understanding of enclosure designing @ minimum.

Re: People who know about ported boxes!

yeahh if i put the ports on the sides or in the middle, if i simply slide my box clockwise and have the ports on top than i just use my width as my height and my box will be 28in wide because the height is 14inch and all i would have to do is double that, and the height of the box would simply be 25.75 inches
