anyone use this sub in a 3.5 cube box? Im lookin to do a spl 15 for #s , it would be tuned to 44Hz using 2- 4" round ports-no flares. power would be around 1600-1800w. its in the trunk sub back port back.
any opinions? or suggestions?
thanks

What car and what space you have to work with?
I have a 01 maxima and the largesr box i can fit in the trunk is around 4.25cubes gross.
You can fit bigger then that, just have to build it inside the trunk.
For numbers you need to build/test/build/test. Nobody can tell you what will work best for you.
For daily set ups I've never had good luck with HDC's in smaller boxes, but for SPL some guys do go smaller. Unless your class limits power I'd do 2-4 times what you have now.
ya, i know what your saying, i build alot of boxes, problem is that no one close to me has a meter so i have to test at the shows.
box has to come out of the trunk sometimes so im stuck with 4.25 cubes gross. i cant go over 2000w in my class. my class is 30 seconds avg. on music.
ive been workin with a 12" sig, and wanted to play around with a 15"- i mean there only $237.
I love 4.25 net for the 15" HDC. Where does your car peak? Assuming that's clamped power I'm sure you can do a 3500-4000wattt amp at 1ohm...
It peaks at 47Hz. at the most i can only give it 2000w at .5, maybe its not a sub i should play with. thats crazy amount of power for 30 seconds. Ive also been workin with a 2512- really impressed with that sub.
