Yeah, sorry it was a joke. The best maintenance is keeping the sub within it's normal operating specs. Don't send clipping to the sub, don't operate way over power handling recommendations, give the sub a minute or two of lower level play before turning them off completely when nearing the end of the trip. These simple habits will ensure long lasting equipment.
