Im new here and first and foremost i wanna say wassup and that ive been using this site for the past 2 months daily researching different things and you guys are a definite help.

My particular question is one im sure that has been asked but not specifically to my situation.

Which would be louder? (dont click "back" im giving details here..lol)

2 Kicker L3 12's in a ported box with about 2.0 cu ft per chamber with a KX600.1 pushing them

or

1 Kicker CVX 12 in a ported box (tuned somewhere around 35hz maybe) about almost 3 cu ft with a KX600.1 pushing it.

I know the L3s have more cone area and usually equates to being louder (more spl) but driver and motor force plays a part. The cvx right now is clearly out-bassing 1 L3 12 at the same given power with relatively the same air space..so it lead to me this question. Will 2 outperform the 1 cvx on the same given power??

And by louder i mean just overall around the 38-30hz range. anything higher than that just doesnt suit my ears well..sounds dumb to me..lol (prolly why i hate proboxes) All answers are welcome

what is the coil configuration of the l3s and cvx? my guess is the 2 12s will be louder than the 1 if theyre both seeing the same power...

**** just when u think u gave all the info you could..lol....everything is dual 4 ohm. i dont yet have the second L3 but will be considering it depending on the replies

Try staying away from kicker if possible...look into SSA or obsidian audio if u wanna save sone cash

The L3's should deffinetely be louder if done right.

thanks...and u say stay away from kicker..and as much as ive been reading on here people love to recommend SSA, RE(the old ones), Sundown, etc etc.....my thing is..ive looked on all those subs just never actually heard any of em...im not a big SQ guy myself...talk down on it if u want but im just wantin some good old trunk rattlin bass. now i was about 3inches away from a Gcon one day...never got it..obsidian seems nice..idk about all that..thats another thread...im just not sure how loud(trunk rattlin wise) those subs can get....plus i already have kicker so..in order to stay away from it id have to sell it..lol

And i figured cone area would take it....but what do you mean by if done right? that not enough air space for 2?

EDIT: forgot to mention..i think i Fxckd up already...the L3 is a Dual 4 ohm so in getting another L3 thatd cause some issues..

You've been tuned into this site for two months and you've narrowed your choices down to two overpriced junk kickers, or one overpriced so-so kicker? I'd give kicker a little consideration if the lines of product were priced comparably to other companies lines of similar performance. But they're not.

I'd run TXX series Audiopipe before running Kicker. Solid budget subs.

no i havent been researching FOR these subs..i was researching OTHER subs...and i havent narrowed down my search..im still searching...this is just a mere question of the subs i already own..and have owned for a while...

and TXX ill def check them out....

FYI these are the choices ive narrowed down just...for curiosity purposes and those who want to know

12" SSA GCON ported box 3.0 cu ft
Obsidian Audio 15" in 3.25 cu ft ported box
Sundown audio- havent really decided what sub
2 15" SSA DCON in ported box

im still having mixed feelings on these..i talked to an SSA rep and his service was terrible..he kept telling me he was on the other line multiple times...id come back and talk to him as if i were someone else with a different problem and he answered right away and was ready to help...i was done...that was the week of black friday

just looked up the TXX..which line are you talking about..they have like 3 or 4 BD BE BF SPL or AP??

any of them won't even get warm on 600 watts. But the bf 15” has a 4” coil. :-)

may be a stupid question and i know everyone bashes kicker for multiple reasons..but give me a lil slack..all ive ever had was kicker...ive had every sub cept the comps and the solo X...so i dont see the terrible ness in them yet..lol taking SQ completely out of the picture as well as Price cuz ive got all my subs cheap or free..lol CVX for 149...why is kicker so terrible??

but anyways...how does these subs compare to the CVX? matter of fact which subs out of the Audiopipe line will smash the cvx? (and yes please be louder than the L7)
