Whats a good sub for SQ? under $200

What subs have great SQ I really dont need it to be super loud as I usually listen at medium volume I just want good SQ mostly. Whats a good sub at under $200 hopefully closer to $100?

I dont have an amp or enclosure yet so I could really go w/ anything. I was thinking a 12". I was looking at the alpine R series but I wasn't sure if I 'd be sacrificing a good bit of SQ and cash for volumes I'd rarely use. Space isn't much of an issue as I have a big trunk that I dont use a ton.

that look pretty good how would it compare to a 12" like a 12" alpine R series or some other 12 " because space isn't really an issue.

If you want an all-in-one solution and are leaning more towards SQ, Alpine's prefab 8" Type R is worth looking at. It's less than your 200 dollar point, but not by much. Just consider you're getting a tuned box with that sub and it should put out some pretty decent sound.

I was in a similar situation as yours and have been trying to rack up my build 100 bucks at a time (pretty much setting that as my max for anything). Just keep your eyes on the classifieds and your local CL for some pretty sweet deals.

He's looking at SQ not SQL and that 8" Type R actually puts out pretty decent bass. It's not gonna be close to the standards of, say, an IDQ or Morel, but it's good for the budget.
