It's basically a 1.5" thick piece of wood. Vacuum pressing is the same way that MDF is made.

back on topic, i thought Vacuum pressing was referring to carbon fiber. AKA lay the mat and resin and toss it in a vacuum bag to **** all the air out and compress all the bubbles out of the peice making it stronger.
