Differences are minimal

I just had a custom box built for my 2 10 inch RE Audio SE Pros. It was built exactly to specs tuned at 36hz. I just unistalled my 15 RF T1also in a custom box tuned to 36hz. Both were powered by my JL Audio 1000/1 V2. Honestly i cannot hear a difference between my 2 10s and 1 15. The 15 is obviously deeper but my 2 10s keep up stride for stride. Their bass response is very deep as well. I drive a Toyota 4-Runner. What gives? Why is the difference between the two so small? I know 1 15 has more cone area.

Yes indeed very minimal.

its like... adding a CAI on your car.. you may get 10-20hp, will it be very noticable? probably not until you tune the engine to accept the more air flow..

^10-20 is very gracious. most ive delt with is 7-10. maybe 20 with a complete exhaust and CAI.
Op give them more power. say 1500 to the pair. itll help

theoretically to gain 3 dBs (threshold of human hearing) you need to double power. In 99% of the cases its true but vehicle positioning can change things. but double up and youll hear a difference

The cone area of a pair of 10's and a single 15 is nearly identical. Unles you are really going up in quality of the equipment with one or the other I wouldn't expect any difference in output all things being equal.

I wasn't expecting any major differences but I just thought the differences would be more obvious between the two. The differences are slight if anything else. In all due honesty I am very happy with the bass with the 2 10s as well as the 15. The 10s play very very low and are a little more precise. I can feel a thump in my chest as well. With the 15 it was more of a rumbling effect. That's all. I made a thread about 2 10s ported vs 1 15 ported months ago and the comments on that thread were that the differences between the 2 would be very minimal. You guys were 100% right.

Nope.....the box is tuned to 36 for the 2 -10's takes displacement into account. Same with the box for the 15.


Also at 36 cycles.....the 10's will not feel "punchier" than the 15. They are both moving at the same speed.
