My tens sound better than a chit load of 12s and are discontinued old school usa made compition grade Audiobahn aw1008t dvc 2ohm 1000k rms ea.
I would look at some FI subs as well/SSA also..Just a recommendation, several other subs out there,and opinions/experiences

get a custom sub from @SPLaudio ; I have a nice mmats p 3.0 motor 3 inch coil that he could make an amazing sub out of. id ship it to him for 40 bucks for you and he could do the rest. it already has a 10 inch frame but he could make it anything you want

yeah that's the route i'd go if you're on a small budget. I love my SA-10 but hey that would be the deal of the day!

It's more enclosure dependent than sub dependent.
Most quality 1k rms subs will sound near the same in the same box on the same power; you really wouldn't notice a difference if any.
I'd go with the one you can get the best deal for.
