DD Subwoofers?

My friend was telling me to put a Digital Desgins 12 inch subwoofer in my car has anyone had one of these i hear a 8 inch before and it sounded like a 12. So i was wondering how good the 12 sounds?

If you do a little research on here or even google you will find several reviews, videos, and comments about DD products.

While they are some great subs the price is normally what push people from buying them.

His "really" could have been legit, as the OP poises a question that has nothing to do with the previous data given in the prior statement. They stated in a roundabout way that a DD 8 was as loud as a competitor 12. They then asked how good a DD 12 would sound. These two are not correlated, although we can infer what the OP meant.


To the OP: I have yet to hear any DD setup that has impressed me over the last decade+ I have been into car audio.

when i had a ddm3a.. that impressed me like heck. the subs.. meh besides the Z. had a guy with two 9512s on 3500 and it just didnt impress me for the 2k he paid or so,.

Not a single setup w/ DD subs has been as loud (to the ear or on the meter) as comparable or even "lesser" brands in similar situations. Nothing short of SPL only build rides have ever put up numbers at any comps I've been to, and not a single daily/hybrid setup was loud to me when demo'd.

ive ran the dd9515 and now run the 3512.s on a bc3500 and love them ..very impressive...lil overpriced ...yes..but to say they arent impressive is false

Wow, that is very odd to be honest. While I am not a DD supporter for various other reasons (many know why lol), they do very well in most applications. In many cases they do just as well as others or better on the meter. Their durability is typically pretty good as well.

I can see where I would be turned off to a brand if I had never heard/seen one impress me. I guess seeing/reading about them online doesn't count huh lol.

I guess you never get around the guys from TNT from Victoria at shows? They use a lot of DD products down there.

I dont need anything crazy I just want some great sounding subs if anyone has brands I should check out post them. I need to keep the price under $250 for one 12.

That leaves a few choices. I would suggest a SSA Gcon myself.

Make sure what ever you purchase you put it in a nice custom enclosure and not some "prefab" enclosure. No since in spending money on something your won't get full value out of.
