Re: Weird subwoofer problem
it is a wiring issue, from the description. check all electrical system connections, battery/fuse holder/ground points, etc. Remote wire connections, pos & neg at amp, speaker connections at amp/speaker...check everything.
Re: Weird subwoofer problem
id check your wiring configuration as well,to make sure you are within the correct ohms value for the sub,and amplifier unity. As follows-
Subwoofer Wiring Diagrams
Re: Weird subwoofer problem
Follow mr.Quacks instructions,as well as checking your wiring configuration for your ohms stability for the sub and amp. Also i would get the electrical tested at your local Autozone/Orileys ect,as is is generally free to do so,then let us know what you have accomplished, and maybe we can help further.

Re: Weird subwoofer problem
The only time I had a thumping problem upon shutdown it was a ground problem. Needed a better ground on the hu.
Re: Weird subwoofer problem
Mine was doing the same thing in my Burb it needed a better ground.
Re: Weird subwoofer problem
alright well.. RCA's are fine. Ground is fine. Remote seems to be fine, currently checking into it further. This subwoofer itself is fine. Subwoofer wires to the HU are fine. AMP & CAP are fine. I.. Am.. Stumped.
Re: Weird subwoofer problem
Is the amp going off when the sound stops or is it staying on?
Re: Weird subwoofer problem
You could very well have a bad capacitor,,Id remove it, and rewire the power back up without it, and see what it does.Just me.
