If you see the cone moving and you can't hear it there's a good chance the frequency is below the threshold of your hearing. If you don't feel anything where you're sitting while those low notes are playing you might not have enough air displacement happening. Either way, switching to a ported box isn't going to do any good for subsonic notes. Subsonic notes aren't common in music and they require exponentially more power to reproduce than "normal" bass notes.
