    SSA subs

Hmm I was planning on getting either one 10 inch or 12 inch ssa icon sub but then I noticed the gcon subs were released so now i don't know whether to get one icon or 2 gcons. I don't know what the recommended enclosure size is for gcons but for the icons its around 2 cubic feet. Space is somewhat limited because its going in the trunk of a mustang. A sundown SAX 1200d amp will be powering whatever I choose...so any thoughts?

Any particular reason why you would recommend the gcons? And unfortunately I think the zcons are a little out of my power and electrical means

    Re: SSA subs

i'd personally say 1 icon if its going in a mustang. small trunks for the most part. plus you wouldnt be powering the two gcons to their full potential with a 1200.1

    Things to look forward to:

    Re: SSA subs

Just based on your power at tap, I'd say the Gcons. I think their power handling and the saz1200 should match up pretty well. Especially since you're not going to be able to compensate for your lack of power with a larger enclosure, due to self-imposed space restrictions. And, chances are the Gcons need a bit less volume than the Icons. If you think you'll be upgrading your amp and electrical down the road, I'd say snag the Icons now.

EDIT: just saw you were actually considering one icon, which sounds a bit more realistic. Do you know how much enclosure space you have? And chances of a single 15"?

    Re: SSA subs

Yeah it's between one 12 icon or two 10 gcon subs. I could maybe do one 15 but for some reason I really want two 10s... Also I'll probably be doing an electrical upgrade soon but the amp is staying the same.
