I want to be able to do a hair trick

I have a avalanche with 2 12 l7s in a custom ported box running off of a hifonics brz2400 and while it was good for awhile I've grown accustomed to it....it's not loud enough! I have stock electrical but will be getting a dual alt kit from dcpowerinc. I don't plan on competing so I don't need something crazy, i just want to be able to do hairtricks from time to time...any recommendations for subs? Preferably 15's or 18's, thanks.

only sugestion is do the big 3 upgrade if you havent get a battery. see if the upgrade electrical helps? maybe get a bigger amp? sound deaden the hell out of everything and get the most amount of cone area you can while still keeping the subs in the right spec built box

I would suggest Orion's HCCA 15. Ive got one in my explorer right now, and it blows most other systems out of the water!! But if you really want to do a good hair trick, you'll probably need at least 3 15's, plus a lot of electrical work.

Anywhere from $800-1200 for subs alone

aq hdc4 18's << two of those should do the trick in the right size enclosure and getting the right amount of power. I can do hair tricks with my two 12" aq hdc4's off a sundown saz-3500. Im doing almost 150dbs at 35 hz with a crappy box that I built for my first time. Im building a new box though. But with that said, those subs get loud.

a pair of bl 18's or 3 15's are easily in hair trick territory, we had a single one in the back of a chevette and were getting very close to it. on low power and with the box facing the wrong way.

lol, I dont have any pics of the score but I am taking it to a competition thats coming up this week and ill make sure to take some pics of the scores for you. I do have a video of my honda accord on youtube that you can watch but thats not really going to prove how loud it is. Its just going to show you how its damaging my poor honda. Its an older video too, its a lot louder now.

now back to your question... If it were me I would go with 2 atomic apxx 15's... I have the apxx 18 and it is beast... Or you could do 3 sundown sa15's.. either would equal a lot of air movement in the correct enclosure.

a pair of custom built monsters is always a favorite choice of mine,

nightshades, dc xl's, or zcons for that matter can all do some damage.

you dont need 3 15's to do a good hair trick. i've seen one ten do some crazy hair tricks. and i do some decent hair tricks on my 15in ss xxx on 2 dtr 3400
