Do you think 300w rms would suffice?

You ever hear an Alpine Type R or Type X? They're decent as well. Just trying to give you more ideas for SQL type subs that are in your price range. The X is a little more expensive.

Like most SSA stuff they're underrated. I wouldn't be afraid to throw 5-600 at a Dcon.

Yeah I'd like to hear one. But is it purely a sq sub I've seen some reviews that said it would get down like the others but then again everyone's got different ears plus its gonna be sitting right behind me in a ext. cab truck I just want something I can run at 600rms or better as a daily sub and amp combo

The Havocs are expensive, out of your price range, but their other subs might be more affordable.
Also, I'm gonna throw in my vote for the Obsidian Audio 12.

    Havoc 12 D2
Link for the "beginner" Ascendant sub. Chaos. $270 so a little pricey but matches up with your amp well.

Sorry.... Don't know why it linked back to the Havoc. Go to Sound Solutions Audio home page and go under the Products tab. That's going to link you up with all the subs they sell.

Re: Fi ssd vs sundown sa-12

If you want dual subs, get the dcons for your amp. Run it @1 ohms. For a single sub. Ssd....sa....whichever is cheaper cause chances are.....you're not going to hear a difference. All in the box and install.

Re: Fi ssd vs sundown sa-12

Well I've got it down between the ssd and the dcon series 12. Sundown just claims the sa to be a spl monster and I'm looking for a good mix between the two. But do you really think the dcon could handle 750 w or just buy a 4 ohm version and run it at 475w. I'm just sketchy on the idea of paying that for a sub that rms' at only 300w unless they just say that to be on the safe side to keep ppl from blowing subs.

Re: Fi ssd vs sundown sa-12

I think ima save up more money and just get either a fi q or an icon. I can't find any info on the icon other than it rms' at 1250. Anybody know what an ideal ported box would be because mine is only 1.6 cubic feet
