I'm in the same boat as you, running a single 10 on 1200w. I went with the SA-10 from Sundown. Got it b-stock at like $140 shipped, phenomenal deal.
Used, B-Stock, Refurbished Amps, and MISC - SSA Car Audio Forum there's the link for info on what I got. they have three D2's left, exactly what you need to run at 1 or 4 ohms. If you need to run at 2 ohms, you're SOL there. But the rest of the suggestions should work. There's great used deals too.

that's another insanely good deal. Because you do need a proper enclosure for your subwoofer. Those Skars are sick, clean, and loud. They WILL handle 1k rms daily. You aint gonna get any better deal there, wish it was around when I was looking for a sub.

I get quite a bit out of my 18 and it has aluminum coils too, with just 1k, probably not even that cause my ****** stock electrical.

Just my input, I don't doubt you could be right on that.
