Personally, I think they both offer solid performance and many good features. My personal preference would lean towards the PG amp moreso..... Simply on the basis that PG has a long track record of producing high quality amplifiers- and I have never had a single issue with thier gear. This is JL Audio's first attempt in the amplifier scene, and honestly- they are doing quite well. Very impresive from the start. I have had no issues with thier gear either. So in this case; amplifier wise, it comes down to track record more or less to me.

The good part about this- either way, you cant really go wrong......

    take it easy,

zane i was at car toys and the amps that you could listen to the subs were jl 500/1 and a pg 1000/1 and someothers. the pg would only play for about 1 minute at a time the cut off. the jl never did but surely didnt push the subs as hard as the pg. if the pg is such a good amp why would it cut off so much.

    thanks

Blame the installer/soundboard before the amp... check out if it is @ its rated impedance, if it is being powered properly, and how they have it hooked up...

PG amps are absolute monsters, but you have to install them properly to get what you are after...
They may have made a simple mistake somewhere, and correcting it will resolve the issue...

I would probably go with the PG Amp.
