    The "Which Sub Should I Get THREAD"....to end all

    ok ive done this to help with all of the flooding of new post which start i want this jl beast or alpine arrrgghhh stuff and to give u better options FOR BETTER MONEY.....

    anyone who is willing to help please do so because i have no heard every sq or sql sub there is..

    The Subs


    Image Dynamics Q
    +very musical sub
    +great reproduction of all low end frequencies
    -can get loud but not loud enough for all



    DD 1500-2500
    +Get stupid loud for being low end DD
    +Sound very good doing so
    +Built like a tank
    -Cost some what a pretty Penny


    Sundown SA12(10, 8, 15)
    +Get Very loud
    +Can take a beating
    +amazing for the price
    -do not sound as good as say the ID Max but do sound very good


    Skar Audio VVX
    +Very Loud
    +Price cant be Beat
    +Great low end Extension/power handling
    -everyone hates the owner....for some shady stuff even tho i didnt experience anything shady with kevin


    Image Dynamics MAX
    + Amazing SQL
    +**** Loud and Still sounds amazing
    +one of the best sql subs ever
    -very picky when it comes to power...2.5" coil doesnt like to be overpowered much


    Eclipse Titanium 88120/9122
    +Has Great low end extension
    +TC sounds made
    +Fat Surround...who doesnt like the TI Surround...seriously? anyone? anyone? bueller?
    -Soft Parts are Hard to Get a hold of


    TC Sounds Epic
    +Great SQ
    +Gets Pretty loud for low end TC
    +Pretty to look at
    +Easy to Recone
    -may not get loud enough for some


    SSA Icon
    +High Quality made to take a beating
    +Loud and good Sounding
    -availability...some hate waiting awhile for a sub to show up lol...im one


    Shiva X2(i have not heard it but have heard amazing things about it)
    + XBL^2 for low distortion
    +amazing sound quality
    anyone heard anything else about this?
    -out of stock?



    DC Level 3
    +Can Get very loud/Displace some good air
    +will take alot of power
    +like Sealed enclosures
    -may not sound as good as some others

    +Amazing sound Quality at all levels of volume
    +blends well with speaker system
    -cant really think of one someone chime in

    +Very musical reproduction
    +Blends well with speaker system, can extend down into the 20's and up past the point of localization.
    -2" coil limits thermal power handling, but have been proven to handle over rated


    DC Level 4
    +Does well in smaller ported enclosures
    +Ability to get loud while maintaining composure
    +Well rounded sub leaning towards daily SPL
    +Good customer service
    +Handles power well
    -Not everyone can get "direct" pricing


    Fi BL
    Wants to be ported
    +Loud while staying accurate
    +Built in the USA, recones available
    +Custom options
    -There is a build time, but not very long of a wait.
    -Buck's aren't loud enough according to 12 Gauge Audio


    Fi Q
    Borderline SQ
    +Built in the USA, recones available
    +Real good blend of Sq
    +Custom options including HIGH QTS (for sealed applications) and a shorting ring for lowering inductance.
    -There is a build time.


    Audioque SDC 2.5
    +the price is amazing
    +gets loud and low
    +did i mention the price?
    -likes high tunning(may not be a problem for some)
    -some manufacture issues

    You are making this thread really hard. A lot of good choices. You'd really be good with going with any of those. Throw a poll up.

    Dayton Audio RSS315HFA-8 12" Reference HF Subwoofer 8 Ohm

    Dayton Audio TIT320C-4 12" Titanic Mk III Subwoofer 4 Ohm

    I have used the Titanic in a few installs for people and let me tell ya, the are another little know beast for car use.
    built very, very well and can take it.

    Yes it's up F/S, but someone else is in front of him (hockey buddy). But he's only 50% he wants it. Very possible your buddy will end up with it for a great price! Let's keep this thread on topic, you have my number.
