    Icon32 Enclosure for 2x Sundown Audio SA-12's

I plan on purchasing 2x Sundown Audio SA-12's and I want to put them in a vented enclosure their site recommends 1.75cuft per sub and the port tuned to 30hz (seems really low) I was wondering if anyone has experience with these subs and what specs worked best for SQL. I was also wondering what kinds of terminals they make for If I want to use larger gauge wire probably going to use some 10 gauge. I was looking on ebay at some enclosures they don't look too bad but the lowest tuned port i see is 36hz I can build one but I really don't feel like carpeting it myself.

10awg wire is fine. a good design will depend on the power you plan on feeding them? from 600-1200 rms a box thats 3.5ft^3 @ 34hz will suit the drivers very well. a nice fatty port to. what power will you be running?

if you want one built i ship CONUS FYI

34 hz with a fatty port will lead to too much unloading below tuning, IMO.

I am going to use an audioque AQ1200D 1200 rms @ 1ohm. 10 awg is what i'll use but i don't know where to get terminals that will fit 10 gauge lol.

Why do you need terminals to fit 10 gauge?

what do you mean? I don't want to run wires out of the port?

Oh, I just drill a hole in the box to where the wire comes out, and silicone the hole from the inside. Terminals= loss of power.

Really? Because of the different connections?

Yep. It may not be that big of a difference, but it's an OCD thing. See, I think it's something like 10% power is lost with subs that have push terminals rather than direct leads, so you can imagine what cheap speaker wire terminals might do.

!0% seems like an exaggeration but hell drilling holes would save money anyways so I'll do that.

The website doesn't recommend a minimum size for the port I plan on making a slot port so maybe 4" wide by whatever high to equal 34-35hz? I just can't believe they recommend 30hz tuning.

Just let buck do the design he charges a $1 and he knows his stuff why guess then hope and pray in turns out like you want it to. Better to spend a $1 then to redo a box.
