I am pretty sure I didn't say that; I have numerous times mentioned they are not the same thing as an SA driver but I did in fact design and source them.

For example I stated here I did design them :
    SKAR Subwoofers?

They share only the spider pack, tinsel leads, a similar cone body, and triple joint ring with an SA (our older frame spacer is used too) -- all other aspects are different and designed for the VVX woofer to fit the design goals of Skar Audio (extremely prominent low-end and high excursion).

Regarding the spider pack -- I have yet to see one actually get "saggy" in anything resembling normal operation with 2-years of sales on the SA drivers but you will see a break-in around 33% on the CMS figure compared to fresh. In other words it will be substantially softer than out of the box within a week or two and then stick around that point afterward. It is theoretically possible to stretch the weave, as with any spider, and damage it with extreme over-powering but it's not easy task as it's a dual layer, tight weave, Nomex material. You may see a settling of a few millimeters rearward in an up-firing applications but that's about it.

I could have swore i read on here that you didn't actually design them but assisted in the design. If you didn't then sorry i was mistaken.

As for the suspension I have no idea why it started to weaken like that. I have tested many sa subs and never seen that problem yet. Let me see if we still have it, if so I can send it to you to look over. It was in a 1.77ft3 tuned to 31hz.

I'd certainly be interested to see if any of those spiders have weakened so I can send them back for detailed examination. I tested quite a few versions of the spider to get one that lasts.

I have a few reviews over subs and amps i tested over the winter. However, with my current employment situation I felt that once it was known(my new employer) that the views in my review would not have been taken seriously. I have not tested any product from another company for the basis of a review since I took my new job though. So all views I post about other products that I have tested are non biased but when talking about new product I am biased lol. Hard not to be in this position.

    Re: A Skar Surprise!

Company affiliations tend to create a little bias, but who can find fault there? It's part of loyalty, in a nutshell.

It's not like rabbit season will begin.

Jacob, I'm awaiting that new 8. I think 72 hours should be enough time to hand machine/assemble one lol...ready, GO!
