    2 Alpine Type X 12" or 1 Rockford Fosgate T2 15"

    Which of these subs should i get for my 2001 Eclipse, and if i get the Alpines will i need to upgrade my alternator?

    What you got against the Type X? That's actually a pretty decent sub.

    well the amp would depend on the subs i get, and my budget is around $900-1250.

    Well i want a louder system than my 2 infinity reference 12inches, and i don't want something that will sound distorted. They also have to fit in my eclipse.

    jesus. if i see another thread like this. for 1000 bucks you could do way better.

    Your subs wont sound distorted unless you clip them by turning your gain up too high on the amp.

    You dont need 4 12s or 2 12s even to get loud in a hatch. its all in the box and the sub. if you get a halfway decent sub and build a properly ported box it will get much louder than you ever thought possible. in the next few posts people will tell you what subs to buy

    This amp: Amazon.com: RUB1.1000D - Soundstream Monoblock 1000 Watt RMS Rubicon Series Subwoofer Amplifier: Electronics

    that's like 500 dollars, you'd want to add a second battery just to be safe, so that would be another 200-250 depending on battery and wiring.

    That setup would blow you away.

    Op, if your wanting to run those subs then it will be around 1200 rms. So for your electrical, your going to atleast need to do the big 3, nice batt under thr hood and one batt in the back. Now thats if your wanting to run at 1 ohm. It would help lots if you upgraded your alt but its not completely neccasary. Now for the subs, i suggest browsing around this forum before you buy anything.
