My brother has dual 10" Alpine Type-E subs in a sealed enclosure with 500 rms going to 'em (250 each). Surprisingly, they're really loud.... He just bought them at circuit city because he wanted something kinda loud and with a good warrantee, and I gotta say, they really hit hard. I haven't heard that many systems though. But you can really feel it in your chest and the whole car (dash, doors, pretty much everything) rattles pretty badly.
I bought a single 12" Infinity Kappa Perfect dual-voice coil sub and right now I'm powering it with a little Jensen amp that's probably doing about 175 rms or less, so right now I just pretty much want something to thump until my spring upgrade. When it warms up I'm gonna be buying another Perfect, get a dual sealed box (1 cubic foot for each of 'em) and run them off of a jbl 600.1 amp, giving each 300-350 rms. How loud will that be in comparison to the Type-E's? I'm pretty sure it should sound a lot better, but I'm just curious right now as to how loud it's actually going to get. With more watts and bigger subs I'd think mine would be louder, but I know Perfects are made for quality and not really loudness.
What do you guys think? Thanks for any replies,
