Does "spl" make a good amp? check out this one for me...

Here is the site with specs on a "spl" amp that seems like it would give my two 12's all the power they need...they are 160w rms each....does spl make good amps or are they cheap?

    site:

    Thanks
    Adam

Just one problem......That amp is mono and I'm looking for a 2 channel amp... oh and another problem is that it only says 300 x 1 @ 2 ohm....I'm looking for like 200-350w rsm x 2 @ 2 ohm...If you now have a choise in mind since I gave more info(sorry) ten go for it....
    Adam

I thought you said your 12's were 160 RMS. Plus JBL amps are underrated, I guarntee that it puts out more than that SPL amp. also, why do you need a 2 chanel amp, you just wire the subs in series to give the amp a 2 ohm load. That amp even has two sets of speakerwire inputs even though it's a mono-block. You would hook them up just like a 2-channel amp.

well that makes em sound better....I still don't know if it has the power though...I mean say that it is underrated....so then 300 x 1 becomes maybe 350 x 1....thats gives me 175 rms watts per sub....I already know that won't be enough because I have had one of these subs hooked up to a 275 kenwood amp for a while and that one speaker takes the power easily....I may be trying to get to much power out of these subs but I have a 3 year warrenty and I 'm not worried about damaging them...

because that spl amp is rated at 220x2 @ 2 ohms, but if you just hook a sub up to each chanel that wont be 2 ohms,it will be four. to get that power you would have to run the amp bridged, and I doubt It would be stable at 2 ohms bridged. see, if you had dual voice coil subs then you could, but with singles it would only be putting out like 110 W per chanel. promise =)

Yuor point is taken and noted and I have also changed my mind on that....i was simply hoping for a cheap price with great results...oh well....I'm looking more at the jbl 1200.1 now....because I plan to upgrade my subs later and I don't want to have to upgrade to amp at that time also...
