    Fi SSD or SA-12's

Alright, so I have a 15" Fi SSD (previous double stack motor) and a pair of Sundown SA-12's. I have to sell one of the two types of subs and don't know what to do.

I like the sound of the SSD slightly more than the SA-12's, but I like the assurance that the SA-12 is going to last forever because it is built like a tank.

The SA-12's definitely sound great and will get louder than the SSD, but I don't compete anymore, nor do I go around bumping full blast.

However, I already have a box built to spec for the SA-12's and I would have to build a new one or put on a new baffle for the SSD.

Soooo let's hear some opinions of what you guys think so I can get off fence and finally decide. What should I do?! Thanks for any input.

I personally don't like the way 15'' subs sound. But that's just me.

They generally sound the same, but larger subs tend to have more output due to cone area.

I prefer 8's or 10's, tighter sounding bass imo

An 8" sub can sound exactly the same as an 18" sub of the same line if the boxes are built correctly. Only difference is that the 18" will have a ton more output. EDIT: ^^^ Beat me to it lol

And I'd keep the 12", but I'm a basshead and like teh loudnesses haha.

that statement makes no sense. If you mean they "hit harder" You have never heard a properly built box

He means more output..which generally will be the case when increasing cone area with the same power. It all depends on the sub tho..a 10" of one brand could have more output than an 18" of another brand.

***But anyways, let's stay on topic! SSD or SA-12s?!?!

I'm hooked on sundown now, so voted for the sa-12's. I'm about to put an Sa-12 in a friends Scion TC, too.
