Opinion wanted: HX2 vs. Eclipse 88120Ti

I'm looking at getting 2 12" subs...either HX2's 2212 (500/1000) or Eclipses 88120Ti (750/1500). I have a JBL bp1200 amp. Which set of subs will give me the highest SPL with resonable SQ (i'm not terrible picky about SQ but i don't want it to be horribly distorted) I have a sealed box with 1 sq/f of air space per side. I wanted ported but I don't have room in my car ( i drive a neon...don't laugh

) I put in 4 gauge wire too btw. Thanks for the input

I'd go with the Hx2's because your going to need alot of power for the Ti's. The Hx2 has good SPL and SQ. so i would get them. IF u had a bigger amp and the box room, then u could get the Ti's.

If it is primarily for SPL- the HX2's would do the job. The Eclipses are Quite the performers- however, are far better on the SQ side of things.

The eclipses are a better sub but if you want to power them, you'll have to get another 1200.1 and use each sub on its own amp...one just isn't gonna give it enough power to be fully appreciated

i agree with the HX2's i used to have 4 HE2 12"s in my car and those things pounded like you wouldn't believe for a decent system. but if you want the best of both worlds and you were willing to pay the price for those eclipse's then get 2 IDMAX 12"s i think everyone on here would agree that those subs are better than both brands of what your looking at .

I would get the hx2 terrible sq great spl eclipse is an awosome sub just so **** expensive.

OK, if I sell my 1200.1 jbl and get a RF 1500.1 would that enough to power the Eclipses? I know RF almost always underrate their amps but how hungry are the eclipses so they will perform well? Thanks for your help guys

yeah the eclipses do have better SQ than the IDMAX subs. but would anyone ever disagree with me when i say that the IDMAX is a better all around sub?? if so i am curious as to how you think the eclipses are better than the IDMAX's

i (now this is just me) like eclipse better than image dynamics. do not get me wrong i would seriously consider images when changing my system but would go with eclipse before image. eclipse tis have amazing sq considering the amounts of power people feed to them and they also have very good spl too. i just like eclipse all around.

well i hate the ti's b/c 2 of my friends have used them and had bad experiences with them. i myself have never used them just heard them. and from what i noticed on my friends set's the subs would ping sometimes. i have heard that the infinity kappa's do this sometimes as well. i don't know though that is just my experience.
