Confused about impedence matching/wiring. Which subs would be best for my amp?

I'm a little confused about impedance matching. I'm going to provide links of everything so you can see specs of everything. I have a (Rockford Fosgate P10001-bd) amp. My spec sheet says that actual power is 553 x 1 @4 Ohms, 968 x 1 @2 Ohms, and 1449 x 1 @ 1 ohm. I was planning on getting 2 12" Alpine Type-R's, which has dual voice coil. But my question is, should I get the 2 Ohm version (SWR-1223D) or the 4 ohm version (SWR-1243D) of the sub for the most power? And how would I wire the two subs with my amp for the most power, from the diagrams below?

    2 x 2 Ohm Diagrams

    2 x 4 Ohm Diagrams

Also, would it sound better to run 2 Alpine Type R's or 2 Alpine Type X's with my amp? Or would the Type X's be underpowered?

Get the dual 4 ohm version, and wire them to 1 ohm.

Re: Confused about impedence matching/wiring. Which subs would be best for my amp?

Like he said above, go with the dual 4 ohm, the power the amp does at 2 ohms could be better for the subs but the amp will run more efficiently than it will at 1 ohm so I guess it's really a toss up between dual 4 at 1 ohm with less efficiency or dual 2 ohms wired to 2 ohms with better effciency at the amp with a little less power. The rockford bd amps are prone to over heating so I would actually do the dual 2 ohm subs. The type R will be your best bet as the Type X needs 1000-1200 rms each to reach their full potential.

Maybe I should collect my thoughts before posting next time. The more I thought about it the more I changed my mind as to what would be best

I would get 2 Dual 2's and wire to .5 ohm because after box rise you will hopefully be right at around 1 ohm, worst case would be 2 ohm or even higher.

That amp is not going to like .5 ohm with or without rise. Unless it is modded I can almost guarantee it will go into protect. Aside from that they are already current hungry amps and that load will be more than it can handle.

I wouldve said thank you for the info since i dont know much about fosgate in general and then suggested wiring to 2 ohms until you said that to look like a smart ***, you sir are a ****. Go fuck yourself.

I've got 2 of these DO NOT try to run them at .5 they will do not like it. And I wouldn't count on rise at all times

if the amp is 1 ohm stable, get two dual 4's and run em haaaahd

Re: Confused about impedence matching/wiring. Which subs would be best for my amp?

Unless he has a very stable electrical system he will end up doing the same power at 1 ohm as 2 ohms. The amp will run cooler and therefore longer with the 2 ohm load, the maybe 100-200 watt real world difference he will most likely see in power won't be audible. Better to run at 2 ohms.

Just because an amp is 1 ohm or lower stable doesn't mean that's the best load to run it at.

Get the 2 4ohm and wire it for 2 ohms for about a week or 2. Give em time to break in ya know? Then wire it to 1 ohm and have fun. BUT they do get a bit hot if you run it at max for too long.

you cant wire two dvc 4's to a final 2 ohm load chief

    You can wire 4 ohm or 1 ohm...not 2 ohm sir...unless he had 3 then 2.66ohms...

In either case, I'd prlly do the dual 4 ohm and run at 1 ohm...but if your stock electrical i forsee dimming and stuff, them amps are power hungry...so if you don't feel like adding another batt, alt, something liek that, maybe think about the dual 2's...

Re: Confused about impedence matching/wiring. Which subs would be best for my amp?

thanks for the info everybody. so i should get the 4 ohm dvc at wire it at 1 ohm from what everybody is saying? So would I actually be able to hear a big difference in this as opposed to 2 ohm dvc wired at 2 ohm load, and about how much longer life would I get out of the amp from doing this?
