    Re: RE XXX 10, 12 ,or 15"

I am pretty sure ppl have slapped 2500+ on the XXX for burps......And I dont know why ppl keep saying the XXX doesnt have good SQ....IT IS AN SQ DRIVER!!!! The SQ is nothing short of excellent on this sub! The XXX was designed for SQ get retardedly loud and handling a lot of freaking power is a by product!

i know that the xxx was designed for SQ...
could you expect excellent SQ at 2500 watts??
    i dont think so.
i doubt any sub could have excellent SQ almost at its peak.

Mrflamnoyant over on termpro has ran 3k to his 15 and it sounded awesome. Pretty freakin loud too
Now he's stepped down to a planet 2250D for daily.
I'm insanly happy with mine and I'm only running 1800+.

when i ask the question if the XXX sub is a good daily driver i get a 50/50 of people saying yes and no.

what exactly makes a sub a good daily driver?

i was under the impression that if you didn't have to put the ratted RMS to the sub to get it to move then that's what makes it a good daily driver....efficiancy....am i right?

    Re: RE XXX 10, 12 ,or 15"

To me daily driving is what you make of it.
You want be able make your guts wrench when you play lil jon or you want clean solid hits that arn't overwhelming. To me the Triple X offers the best of it all.
It's accurate, gets low and sounds clean. I havn't noticed deviances between 1100 watts and 3000 that I've seen them get on a daily basis. I mean of course in spl but the sound quality pretty much remained the same. I'm sure someone out there could tell a difference. But I couldn't really.
Try listening to one in even a decent install. You'll see.

To be honest I've not seen a 50/50 split in people who like it and who don't for daily. I guess some people just like distortion.

"what exactly makes a sub a good daily driver?"

something that wont blow ur head apart, cause u a siezure, or subject u to a myocardial infarction.
when it can play the same a year from now as the day u bought it.
    if its efficient...etc

u get mixed opinions about the xxx because many (like myself) think that the xxx is more in the class of a comp sub.
something that ur going to prob abuse everyday would be like rf,kicker,sony,alpines,jensen....etc

does an amp send out 3000 watts continously? no it doesnt. plus u said 2000 at first, then 2500, now 3000.
Give me a XXX and a 2000 watt amp and i would have no problem making it a sweet sounding woofer.

    Re: RE XXX 10, 12 ,or 15"

yeah......so jensen and sony **** ....but thats what some can only afford.....even though rf and kicker are cheap/er some cant afford it......ive read threads about ppl using cheaper brands.
"DHD" was 1 that was mentioned and i never heard of it till i seen it at a swapmeat....

gotta include the lower brands for the ppl with lower budget.......els i'll feel guilty.......lol
