Type R 15's vs. W3 15's

What do you guys think, which would be better, 2 type r's or w3's? I would have them in a sealed enclosure and I have a JBL 1200.1 I'd like the best of SPL & SQ, or any other suggestions.

yeah, I wish I could just go for a short drive and listen to both of them, unfounately I'ts a 2 hour drive to anywhere that has decent shops. I know the 12" type r's are pretty well-liked but has anyone got or heard the 15's? I know JL's power handling is underrated but the alpines are rated for twice the power. Just want to get peoples opinions, esp. all you vip members, thanks

i never heard anyone put the type r 15 in the same league as the jl but i have seen then with the 12's ...either would do FINE not a bad problem to have picking from these...hopefully someone with a 15 type r will respond

I've never been impressed with the Alpine type-R's (I think I'm the only one) and have always been a huge JL freak...I don't care what anybody says, these subs can do AMAZING things! but if you want a really good opinion, there's only one person you need to think about...yourself. Just listen to them and go with what your ears tell you.

um...my friend has one 15 type r in a ported box, and i dont really like it...id prefer the 12's more. the 12's have pretty darn good sq, but the 15's arent quite as good. the type r 15's are hella good for 15's man....they blow pretty much all the competition away for sq from a 15, but they arent that great. all the 15's do is push a lot of air and make things vibrate...they dont really put out a lot of sound.... i havent heard a 15jl, but from my experience with them(12's), they are a pretty good brand....personally, i dont recommend the type r 15's tho...cuz like i said, they just push a lot of air and make your car rattle....
