alpine type x's not hitting like they should...

i got 2 12" alpine type x's wired 2 1ohm in a 3 cubic ft. ground shaker ported box. im running a power acoustik 4000w amp and my subs arent hitting hard at all. at 1` ohm the amp "supposedly" puts out 2200w rms. alpine states that for maximum results run the sub in a 1.4 cubic ft box. my friend had this same exact setup(used 2 b his old box) for his 2 12" type r's and it slapped hard, and was clean. i used a multimeter to confirm that the subs are wired 2 1ohm and we tried hookin it up 2 my friends 1200w rms hifonics amp and same results. any1 have any idea y the subs arent working?

A common mistake i have seen is ppl putting the RCA's to the "output" terminals on the amp. Thinking that it'll "make" output. They go to the "input" terminals. If this isn't you; then keep searching. Maybe undo/redo the wiring.

check the ground, most common mistake i've sen for subs not hitting right is not a tight ground, also, check the power to the battery, that could be loose too, i had that problem on a buddy's car when i hooked everything up and the subs were like not hitting at all

Re: alpine type x's not hitting like they should...

yea may build a new box, but as far as quality ofthe box this is good. yea the hcca was hitting real well, stayin tight on notes and gets loud, this 1 sounds like its bein way under powered when like i said my friends r's were hittin real hard and clean. amps the bamf 4000/1d, even tho it wont make its rated power should still run the x's no problem but it sounds like its tryin to runnin off of 200w

I'd guess that your amp only has enough power for one.

probly haz different coil config and ohm load... You tried it on two seprate amps. Get am ohm meter and check those subs.

checked them seperately and and 2gether, they both read 2 ohms and a combined 1 ohms, i guess i can try and read how much the amp actually puts out
