XXX 10" vs. XXX 12"

Ok, I have always heard that the smaller the sub, the better the quality, and the quieter it is. I was wondering how 2 12 inch XXX subs would sound compared to 3 10's. Would the 10s be louder because there is three? Would it also sound better. Also, if the larger subs sound good what about 2 15's. I am hesitant on the 15's though.....

even the 18xxx is awesome, i have one. i listen to everything really. great on rap, rock, death metal. it handles double bass like nothing. they are great subs.

if you can wire it up right I think the 3 10s would kick, if not 2 12's is going go to be awsome
