    Will 1 15" & 2 12" sound good put together?

Right now i have a Earthquake DBX15" in a ported box, and i was wondering how two 12" subs would sound with it. Right now it Hits hard as it is. it hits harder than my He2 15" that i had. So i need your opion. Keep the 15" or add two more subs?

mixxing different sized subs is sorta yucky..the larger displacement driver with the most power will still be the dominat woofer so why not just make that woofer sound the best it can

we finding the falcrum of an earthquake or talking stereos? what i want you to do is go look at how big these sound waves are at sub bass frequencies and you tell us what you think....not being cocky you will just see how it works and heck if you do this you dont even have to trust me at what i say..........

lol no not at all....a 20 hz wave is much larger than your car.......infact all subbass waves are very large......bigger the wave the harder it is to tell where it is coming from....also in lahman's terms big woofer that produces bigger wave that the smaller woofers cant do...so in that respect why add more money and take up more space for something that would only at best be an accent? add another 15 if anything and build a better box

see back in the day (im sorta old at this) people used to mix woofer sizes...key fault here is if they are crossed over the same and are tuned the same the bigger speaker is dominant.......you tune the other speakers different then you just opened up a new mess with phase and the systems overall curve......now if you x over them different and play to there strengths and tune it to work together it works but there is ALOT of time in this for little result...especially if we are talking 12's 15's and 18's they are designed to work in the same domain....now i have seen 12" mid basses but lets face it that isnt a true sub....

well, anyone who'se heard it knows that tweet, 4.5", and 8" up front sounds a lot better than tweet and 6.5...
however if having 8s, 10s, 12s, 15s, and 18s in the trunk x-over at diff freqs was the ultimate in SQ, than everyone would be doing it. at least those who could afford it anways.
I've never liked the idea, and have only heard bad reviews of it.
    Good in theory

well i would go ahead and use the 15 for the lowest bass then use the 12's at a diff xover level and use them for some of the upper bass....i believe that would work pretty well...i could be wrong....but good luck

dis agree totally best systems i hear have "less" not more my old set up was a 12 lb total weight horn and a set of 8's more source points are bad even tonally..you can disagree all you want but when u run test cds in it you will see sound stage and imaging suffer...propper setting up of a 2 way system would be better...first perfect 40 was done by my old installer that was with 4 5.25" speakers and 4 tweeters and the 6 12's were unhooked lol only problem with this car was it had a "hall effect"
