Which are the better of the 2 .?

Trying to make a Alpine or JL system so any info would help.

depending on which JL's youa re talking about, that makes a lot of difference
anyways, iw as looking very seriously at teh Tpye R 6.5" comps, but i soon found out that they wouldnt fit in my door due to the incredibly lasrge magnet.
MAKE SURE THEY WILL FIT IN YUR RIDE!!! i was talking to some local installers and the general concensus was : they sounds freaking incredible, loud, SQ to boot, but they are sadly designed for a very limited number of vehicles...

Alpine. I have had experience with JL audio, they hit pretty hard but not really that tight of a sub. It was pretty sloppy. I know the Type R subs are REALLY tight, and have a great sq. Get these, much better!

if i were you, i would go down and listen to both alpine and jl components if possible, audition them yorself, that way you can choose what your ear likes as opposed to going for what others have had good experiences with.....

i mean personally, i wouldnt choose either, but thats another story.

i tried to resist, but have to mention some speakers I HAVE HEARD MYSELF which r superior to anything JL or Alpine could throw at them......................

1. DD 6.5 compoenets - heard a pair, ported, in a kickpanel - OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!! Unbelieveable.............that all i could say..leaves EVERY other components driver i have ever heard behind - and the price..................................THE PRICE!!!!!!!!!

3. MBQuart Q Series (although some find the tweet 2harsh)
4. CDT HD642
5. Diamond M561
6. Soundstream Exact 6.5

My choice = DD, but beware, they are power hungry like the DD subs and will require excellent installation to get the best outta them, but trust me, u wont be disappointed. find some u can listen to..........
