where do they have proof though man. that isn't possible. that would mean at the port that sub is hitting like mid 170's. how is that possible with 1 sub when that old lady for kicker only hit 176 with 60000 watts of power?? i don't see how it's possible.

well 176 is a big jump from 170 every time you gain i think 2 db you double your watts , plus using 10's isn't the best idea in my opinion cause they hit too high and it is 48000 watts for team gates and when you have 48 subs in somewhere i am sure theres no ports so the back wave is canceled with the DD he gave it 6000 watts i think. but it was prolly in the most perfect box and had perfect phase between the front and back wave plus the car would prolly have better acoustics when its not filled with with equipment and has more air to move i don't know if i am right but its just my opinion if i am wrong o well

3db gain is twice as loud so basically 176db is 4 times louder than 170..Other than that you are right on.BTW this guy had a small car that was modified to all hell. So if anything he improved the interior accoustics..and I will bet he spent a lot of time working out the specs for the box on his CPU.

According to my sources, The DD sub in question was a custom made unit, and was 17inches in diameter.

that was no special sub you can buy that sub for $499 its the 9015 series. it is really a 15" sub but they state it as a 17" . I talked to someone that works there

6 db would be 4 times as powerful on the same set of speakers in same environment...to be 4 times as loud would be 20db as doubling in volume is 10 db. the thing about alma gates bronco was it's frequency that it hit at was somewhere in the 120 hz range thats why they have a 80 hz filter now and basically threw her record out.higher the frequency the easier it is to generate. i myself used to be a lil hellian in outlaw..with a set of 9 lb tweeters and 50 watts of power never been beat or even close to around here (where i live) alot of 8 woofer systems got beat by somewhat of a cheat lol. filter the mic thats a different bird of a different color..as for the custom woofers...most companies will do this give a woofer a quad heck way those type a woofers are built (by hand anyway) its hard to say they are not custom to start with...new kove woofer i think will be the one to watch time fall comes rolling in i might be wrong but way it looks....
