OK, be truthful here (2x15"L7 vs. 1x 15/18" XXX)

OK, well which would be better:

    2 15" L7s
    or
    1 15" (or 18") XXX

I can get two 15" L7s for 450 bucks brand new, in my hand, whereas the 15" XXX costs like 400, plus about 50 for shipping, so i could get two 15" L7s for the price of one 15" XXX...

what am i looking for? i want plain out gut-wrenching makes-you-feel-sick, bass... that you can feel hammering at your chest.

    which should i go for?

As for which would be better, what are you looking for? If its sound quality then its the xxx you want. But if you want spl then the 2 l7's would prolly kill the xxx with the ammount of power they are supposed to handle.

yeah i'm looking for BASS (SPL? i'm not sure what SPL means in terms of bass, i know it means sound pressure level, but is the "SPL" that makes your chest hurt and gut-wrenching bass? cause that's what i'm looking for)

will the L7s hit that hard though? i want to be able to FEEL the bass, not just hear it...

Yes true, in the right installation the XXX would prolly be just as good but speaking everyday average joe terms here, we dont all take the necessary time to figure this stuff out and set up the perfect install. So with that said, the 2 l7's would prolly be louder, UNLESS, the XXX is put in the right box with the right amount of power etc etc.

Re: OK, be truthful here (2x15"L7 vs. 1x 15/18" XXX)

Well when it comes down to it, knowledge has alot to do with it anyway. I mean if you take a XXX and put it in the right box, with the right power then it will beat the 2 l7 15's in an average box that wasnt thought out and researched, however if you the l7's go into a box that is thought out and researched and then fed some serious power then yea, the l7's will more than likey win.
