    2 10's or 2 12's?

same amount of watts for both. i was just wondering wether it would make much of a diff in spl to have 12's. i have limited space so 10's sound good but i want loud so 12's sound good also. so many questions so little time. will 10's hit harder then 12's?
will 12's get louder, go lower? does it even friggin make a diff??
    TY

quality is probably the same, if the specs say so....but the 12 will be louder

    Re: 2 10's or 2 12's?

it really depends on what kind of music u listen to. if u listen to mostly hip hop and r&b, definitely go with 12s. i wasnt sure whether to do 10s or 12s myself, but i am so glad i went with 12s. they hit lower and deeper than 10s. if u listen to more variety like rock and techno or whateva, 10s are very versatile, and still sound good on the lower notes. a perfect example, i have 2 JL 12W3v2s, and my buddy had 2 JL 10W3v2s. my bass hits harder than his, plus i am running a 500/1 and he is running a 250/1. as far as sound quality, his sound better when listening to rock, but mine are better when the lower and deeper beats are emphasized. basically, if ur lookin to build a system on a budget and just want an all-around good sub, go with 10s. if u want to feel more of ur bass, then stick some 12s in ur trunk. peace.

    Re: 2 10's or 2 12's?

in an everyday application, two 12"s will generally get lower than two 10"s. you have to listen to the difference between the two, make sure that they are the same brand and series of subs though if you want an accurate comparison.

    Re: 2 10's or 2 12's?

    10s don't hit harder than 12s. 10s aren't "tighter" than 12s. 10s aren't more accurate than 12s.

12s, in the same series, do typically have better low frequency extension than the 10s do, however...

If you have the space and the money, get the 12s.

    Re: 2 10's or 2 12's?

how do u figure 10's arent "more accurate." in some situations there not but are u saying 8's are no more accurate then 12's?

what evidence do you have that supports your theory?

    Re: 2 10's or 2 12's?

umm he used to make subwoofers, and 10's and 12's are so close, when dealing with the same sub woofer, yeah maybe the 15 compared to the 10 will be noticable, but thats due to great moving mass and wattage needed,

anyway, if the money is there get the 12's if not 2 10 Eclipse alums are awsome, hehe
