    Which Box 10's or 12's

    Hey guys,
I started looking around last night for a answer but it was a no go.. So I was forced to post a new thread.. Okay here is my problem. A buddy of mine gave me a awesome deal on a Brand New Pymamid 1600 Watt Multi-Channel Amplifier. Amp has two RCA inputs. Also has speaker level outputs. Ouput of the Amp is: @ 4-Ohms = 400 Watts x 2, 100 Watts x 4. @ 2-Ohms = 800 Watts x 2, 200 Watts x 4 . says on top of the amp, Bridgable Mosfet Amplifier Electronic Crossover Network. Now my Question.. What subs should I get? And what box should i buy.. I Listen to rap, rock, and industrail. I was thinking of getting some 10's. I drive a 1970 Chevelle and its very loud. I also want to beable to Feel the bas not just hear it. Maybe something that might feel like a back massage. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT.

how much money are you looking to spend?

If u want a back massage u're prob gonna need a massive ported box with that amound of power (amp is very overrated).

also i dont understand how many channels your amp has from your post :p

My Amp is a 4 channel, but im going to bridge it two channels. Im looking to spend about 300 $. How Much over rated is the amp, Like they call it a 1600 watt, but is it really like a 1000watt, What would be really funny is if me guessing its a 1000 watt would still be over rating it.

    Thanks

    it's 100x4 @ 4 ohms right?
figure about 200x2 rms @ 4 ohms (realistic)
also know that the "1600watts" is at 2 ohms, and bridged power, and also overrated.

find some subs with good sensitivity numbers and get a big ported box. that should give you the kinda bass you're looking for

The choice on subs is up to you.
    good luck

Also, to add something, if you plan on bridging the amp, know that pyramids don't handle lower ohm loads very well, and most likely your amp will be very hot. You will probably need a cooling fan, but it will just be a matter of time before that amp is no longer any good. You would be better off getting a more reliable amp. Your gonna need some 12's for a back massage, not to mention a new amp, that amp is not a back massage friendly amp. It's more like a heating pad. How much do you want to spend on an amp and subs.

What would be a "back massage" friendly amp? Like RF? I have around 500 $ for the amp and subs.. Possibly i could get just one sub. Is the bix ported box still in need if i go a different route? Is there any amp out there, that will work for what i need it for? Also I live in AZ gets very hott in my trunk... So the last thing i need is my amp over heating.

Good recommendation audiolife. If you want to impress people with a brand they most likely have never heard of, go with the shiva, they are 125 apiece shipped, that puts you in the 250. I would step up to the JBL1200.1 though, which you can get for 300. So that's only 50 over what you wanted to spend, but you will get a nice back massage. The JBL is stable down to 1-ohm, so you should be o.k. there with plenty of power. The L5's are also capable of some nice back massaging, you could get 1-15 and that should do just about right.
