Has anyone seen one of these mofo's in action. Are the any good. The price and power handeling are very tempting but as I have found out the hard way,you get what you pay for.I will be using a mtx 81000d amp to power the sub.Any imput will be helpful.

I heard one before. It wasn't that great. The can take alot of power but they do sound like crap.
AOL s/n: Bramab
Current Car: 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Current system (Always under construction):
Head unit: Kenwood DNX5120
Front Dash speakers: 3.5 midrange with DRT-25 Tweets
Front Door speakers: (2) Dayton Reference RS225 8" woofers
Rear Door speakers: Stock Boston Acoustic speakers (mostly faded out for slight rearfill)
Sub amp: JL 1000/1
Speaker amp: Eclipse EA4000
Subwoofer: JL Audio 13W7
Sub enclosure: 2.375 tuned to 30hz
They are the same quality that power acoustik usually makes. It is an SPL sub, and if you are looking for a cheap way to get into SPL(or if you just going to show off to all your little friends who dont know the definition of sound quality) then it is a good sub. I wouldnt be caught dead with one when the SQ judge gets into my car.
I used to own 2 12" power acoustiks by the way.
Visonik V800XD (1000-watts RMS)
2x Power Acoustik MOFO 15s...
* After a few months rattling sound from the cones, bad glue joints on the ribs
2x NEW Power Acoustik MOFO 15s...
* Spider totally detached from the landing on one of the subs
Glue quality ***** on them... if your glue doesn't break they are pretty loud subs. My friend that owned them gave up on them after that and switched to some low-end MA Audio subs and hasn't had any *glue* related problems... but he has toasted coils on two pairs so far.

Yeah, and he also runs with every knob on any amplifier he owns (besides the x-over) all the way up - bass boost, gain, etc.Originally Posted by sundownz

Power handling is not a power requirement! Don't install suckage!
Thanks for the imput.I will not be purchasing one of those.I will probally go with 2 15 kicker comp vr's and power them with my mtx 81000d.
Right on Nick... I'm amazed the V800XD lasted like it did, something like a year it lasted with him before he killed it.Originally Posted by Electrodynamic
FYI: Only amp this guy hasn't managed to kill that he's had for any amount of time is an old Soundstream Rubicon 702.
